TRU Attends IRU China TIR Roundtable and IRU General Assembly | TRU Logistics
From May 7 to 9, 2025, the 2025 IRU General Assembly, hosted by the International Road Transport Union (IRU), concluded successfully at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The event brought together over 100 representatives from the global road transport industry across 46 countries. TRU Logistics was invited to attend the China-Europe TIR Transport Roundtable on the first day, as well as the IRU General Assembly.
May 7: IRU China TIR Roundtable IRU organized closed-door roundtable on China-EU TIR transport, inviting Chinese delegation and associations from countries along the corridor to discuss the development of direct transport. Donald Wu, head of Kashgar Panju Logistics Center (The China 1st IRU-certified TIR hub) and representative of TRU Logistics, presented a detailed case study on the successful program of the Kashgar Panju Logistics Center.
Donald Wu emphasized that with support from IRU, relevant government agencies, the China Road Transport Association, and partners, the Kashgar Panju Logistics Center has achieved remarkable results. It currently handles approximately 30% of China’s total TIR transport declarations, ranking No.1 in China.
Milestones:
May 26, 2024: The Kashgar Municipal Government, supported by Shenzhen Frontline Command for Xinjiang Aid, hosted ceremony marking the official launch of the China 1st IRU-certified TIR hub in Kashgar.
November 2024: Kashgar Panju Logistics Center reached full storage capacity for the first time.
December 23, 2024: Launched China 1st TIR road transport + SEA freight multi-solution from Kashgar to Pakistan and Dubai.
February 11, 2025: 10 fully loaded TIR trucks departed from the Kashgar Panju Logistics Center during the Chinese New Year, heading to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
March 2025: The center established an on-site service counter at the “Kashgar Immigration Service Center” to provide one-stop TIR consulting services (e.g., cross-border logistics service, TIR holder and vehicle verification, and TIR carnet releasing).
May 8–9: IRU Cargo Transport Committee Meeting and General Assembly During the IRU Cargo Transport Committee (CTM) meeting and General Assembly (AG), IRU Global President Radu Dinescu repeatedly praised Kashgar Panju Logistics Center. highlighted its success in developing multiple TIR routes since its launch, particularly the “China-Pakistan-Afghanistan” corridor, which has become the highest-volume route and significantly boosted trade between China, Central Asia, and Europe.
Moving forward, TRU Logistics will continue to deepen collaboration with IRU and partners along the Belt and Road Initiative. By leveraging the Kashgar Panju Logistics Center as a strategic springboard and strengthening TIR-driven synergies, we aim to forge a more resilient cross-border land transport network, injecting sustained momentum into the efficient freight transportation across Belt and Road countries.
